How to Bring Donations
Food donations can be brought to SEAFB anytime during our open hours:
- Monday-Wednesday 8 AM - 4 PM
- Thursday 8 AM - 5:30 PM
We have an after-hour drop box for shelf-stable items. If you use the drop box, please close the lid to keep animals out, and do not leave food outside the box. We have a few bears who frequent the area.
Bring your food donation to our location at 10020 Crazy Horse Drive, Juneau, AK.

What to Know Before You Donate
Can I donate expired food?
We can accept food that has passed its sell by date; best practices vary by type of food -
Most items are acceptable for 1 year past their sell by/best by date; click here to learn more.
Can I donate fish/deer/game meat?
We can accept most fish and game if it has been commercially processed. To abide by
best safety practices we cannot accept home processed fish and meats.
Can I donate produce from my garden?
Yes, we can accept home grown fresh produce (we cannot accept home canned items) - please bring produce inside to a staff member or volunteer during our open hours.
Can I donate pet food?

Yes, we accept pet food and cat litter.
What items can I donate besides food?
We do accept donations of hygiene items (soap, hair and skin care, laundry products,
cleaning supplies, dental hygiene supplies, etc), and single use (paper/plastic) dishes and cutlery. Although food is our priority, we are a primary point of contact for community
members in need of these items, so they are gratefully accepted.
What are the best foods to donate?
Our members run a diverse range of food programming with different needs and desires – there is no single best food to donate, all donations are appreciated. Some items we receive more rarely that are in high demand are condiments, salad dressings, and cooking oils. Canned proteins (chicken, tuna, salmon, spam), canned soups/chili, peanut butter, jelly/jam, canned fruit, and pasta sauces are also always appreciated.
